Woozles Announces an Exciting New Program
The Gift of Reading
There is nothing as heart-warming as seeing babies, toddlers, young children, teenagers, and adults fall in love with books. We believe the magic of reading is something that sustains and informs one in childhood and for one's whole life. What better gift to give someone than sending them a new book in the mail!
Imagine the sparkle in a young reader's eyes when they realize there's a parcel for them, then the delicious suspense as they open the wrapping, followed by a big smile because someone who loves them has sent a brand new book!!! And not only is there the joy of the moment, there is also the thrill of reading the new book and the satisfaction of adding it to one's growing library of wonderful books.

Each year, Woozles honours a person in Atlantic Canada who has given outstanding service promoting awareness of children's literature.
This year we are thrilled to honour Susan Kerslake, whose whole life has shown a deep and consistent love of books, children, and small birds & animals.

Come one, come all! Come celebrate the 31st birthday of Canada's oldest children's bookstore! Some of our favourite characters will be there, as well as delicious treats, facepainting and, of course, the now-famous fish pond! (Birthday hats, although not required, are highly encouraged!)

When Trudy Carey retired after 30 wonderful years with Woozles, she made a list of 30 of her favourite books. We will start selling raffle tickets for this collection - $2 each or 3 for $5 - in early October. Proceeds will go to the Ann Connor Brimer Award and the IWK Read to Me Program.
