Battle of the Books Update
The 2012 Battle of the Books competition has been so exciting this year. With both Elementary and Teen Divisions, there have been 24 teams competing, 5 of which are all the way from the Truro area! The calibre of the teams is very high and several games have been high-scoring and extremely close.

The final games took place on May 7th at the Halifax Public Library on Spring Garden Road. It was inspiring to watch these games and to see the phenomenal depth of knowledge and passion for reading that the players demonstrate.

The winners of the Elementary Division were Le Marchant Saint Thomas School and the winners of the Teen Division were Clayton Park Junior High...for the second year in a row!!

Woozles has been running its Battle of the Books program since 1986 - tens of thousands of books have been read, over 3000 students (and hundreds of teachers and parents) have been involved, and we're still excited about this signature program!

We have now put together a colourful brochure about Battle of the Books which addresses several 'Frequently Asked Questions' - please ask us for a copy or check out the expanded information about Battle of the Books on our website.

Have you thought about how you might answer these questions? Here are a few sample questions to whet your appetite:
  • What literary character do you most relate to?
  • What would your pirate name be?
  • What is a Woozle?
Visit our blog to see how authors such as Oliver Jeffers, Jo Ann Yhard, Kenneth Oppel, Sheree Fitch and Mo Willems have responded.
