Each year, Woozles honours a person in Atlantic Canada who has given outstanding service promoting awareness of children’s literature. This year we are thrilled to honour Don Skinner, who has served as the Atlantic Sales Rep for Harper Collins Canada for the past 24 years.
Don has been a cherished friend to all of the region’s booksellers and his fellow book reps. He began his career in the book world at Frog Hollow Books before finding his home at Harper Collins. His love for books and his commitment to, and respect for, those who sell them has never wavered. He has always been knowledgeable and friendly, tactful and truthful, and sensitive to the quirks of each and every account.
Through the years Don has recognized the elements that continue to make the book business such an honourable endeavour: the importance of relationships; the thrill of finding just the right book for a particular reader/store/occasion; the knowledge that attention to details can make all the difference. He has helped foster the love of reading throughout the region.
