Battle of the Books 2010

Congratulations & Exciting Plans for 2010

Battle of the Books 2009 ended with flourish and exciting final games in the Elementary and Teen Divisions.

Huge congratulations go to Sacred Heart School who managed to win both levels of Battle of the Books 2009!!

We are now taking registrations for Battle of the Books 2010 – please contact either Woozles – 423-7626 – or frontdesk@woozles.com or Liz Crocker (crockerbrianliz@eastlink.ca). You can find the book lists at the store or online at www.woozles.com.

The exciting change that we are making this year is to ask the 30 questions in each game to both teams at the same time… teams will have twice the fun because they will get to test their knowledge twice as often, and any issues about the placement of easy or difficult questions will disappear. We can’t wait! Games will start in January or February.

2010 Battle of the Books

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

The 2010 Battle of the Books reading lists, registration and order forms are available here in PDF format (see below). If you would like to participate, form a team and register before the end of October, 2009.

As always, the selections for Battle of the Books 2010 are not random. When we choose books for this list, we only select paperbacks and try to include and balance the following: historical fiction; fantasy; classics and current novels; mysteries; contemporary topic/problem novels; serious and humourous stories; adventure/outdoor/animal novels; award-winning books; and multi-cultural reflections.

We have listed the books in alphabetical order by author and have noted Canadian titles with a Maple Leaf.

Please note there is a block on the back to facilitate early registration of your school’s team for Battle of the Books 2010.
